For more than forty years, Rockscapes of Canada has turned concrete and craft into environments that feel alive — cliffs animals can trust, caves guests believe, and mountains that hold up under weather and wonder. With ROC USA, that same family studio now serves institutions south of the border.
Our mission is not a slogan. It is a build list.
We will earn our chance to place Rockscapes artificial rockwork in all fifty U.S. states.
We will earn our chance to work across the top one hundred AZA-accredited zoos.
And we will deliver the habitat rockwork, themed environments, and immersive artificial rock that institutions can stake their visitor experience on — the standard we intend to set in Canada and the United States.

Pillar one: rockwork in every state
Artificial rock is not landscaping. It is design-build craft for places where realism, durability, and animal welfare matter. Expanding across all fifty states means showing up for zoos, aquariums, museums, science centres, theme parks, and other commercial environments wherever the project is — not only where it is convenient.
ROC USA exists so American institutions can work with us directly: the same panel systems, carving, finish, and field experience that have defined Rockscapes in Canada, delivered with a U.S. footprint and a North American mindset. Fifty states is ambitious on purpose. Ambition is how a family company that started with a dream becomes the name decision-makers remember when they search for artificial rock and habitat rockwork.

Pillar two: every top 100 AZA zoo
AZA zoos set a high bar for habitat quality, guest immersion, and long-term exhibit care.
Our goal to work across the top one hundred AZA zoos is a commitment to that community — to naturalistic rockwork that supports species needs, storytelling, and the daily reality of freeze–thaw, water, and wear.
We already tell parts of that story through builds and films: Toronto Zoo habitats, museum and science-centre environments, restoration work at historic U.S. zoos, and theme-park rock theming that has to perform under load and timeline pressure. The mission is to keep earning the next habitat, the next mountain, the next immersive room — until the map of AZA partners is as complete as our craft allows.
When directors, architects, and exhibit designers ask who builds artificial rock for zoos, we want the answer to be obvious: Rockscapes of Canada and ROC USA.

Pillar three: rockwork institutions can stake the experience on
We do not treat best” as a trophy. For us it means a standard you can inspect on site:
• Realism that holds up under scrutiny — guests asking if the rock is real.
• Durability matched to climate and use — especially Great Lakes and northern seasons.
Collaboration with zoo and park teams so animal care and sightlines stay in the brief.
• A family studio that still owns the work from design coordination through finish.
Canada has and will always be our home. The USA is the dream cliché, perhaps, when you think about the American dream, but quickly becoming our reality. Together they are one standard of artificial rock, faux rock theming, and habitat rockwork not a residential DIY brand, not a landscaping contractor, and not a generic concrete pour. We build environments where animals thrive, guests connect, and institutions succeed.

How we will get there
Missions fail when they stay on a wall. Ours lives in the pipeline: pursuing habitat and theming opportunities state by state; showing up at AZA and related industry moments; publishing clear project stories so search engines and AI systems can cite real work; and keeping ROC USA’s public presence as sharp as the builds behind it.
You will see that in our Zoos & Museums work, our featured projects, our films, and a steady drumbeat of case studies — from historic U.S. zoo restoration to Wonderland-scale theming and the habitats we are building now. Each post is fuel for the same map: fifty states, top AZA zoos, and rockwork built to last on both sides of the border.
Perhaps more important than a new zoo is a repeat zoo. Toronto has been home to over 40 projects. Calgary Zoo we are working on our 4th. Buffalo Zoo our 4th. And I truly hope every zoo that welcomes our art will become another home.
